From Phone Call to New Product: The Story Behind the US02S
At BAD&G Customs, "Custom" isn't just a marketing word. It’s how we operate every single day.
The story of our newest product, the US02S Universal Solo Bag, didn't start in a boardroom. It started with a phone call last Thursday afternoon.

The Call
I was in the shop when the phone rang. It was Michael from Huntersville, NC. He was deep into a restoration project for his 1998 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy (a bike we know well) and was looking for luggage.
He loved the look of our heavy-duty US01 Saddlebags, but he had a specific vision: he didn't want a pair, and he needed slightly different dimensions to fit his build. He needed a solo bag, scaled down just enough to tuck in tight to the bike.
If he had called a big retailer, the answer would have been, "Sorry, sold as a pair only," or "What you see is what you get."
But Michael called the shop.
The Build
I told him, "Absolutely." Not only could we split the pair, but we could modify the pattern to hit his exact specs: 14" wide, 15" tall, and 6" deep.
We didn't wait around. I went to work on the design immediately, cutting the custom steerhide and building the bag over the weekend. By Monday morning, his custom 1-of-1 bag was boxed up and on a truck headed to North Carolina.
The Result
Less than a week after he first picked up the phone, Michael received his bag. He sent this email today:
"OMG! I just received my saddlebag. Absolutely stunning. Thank you so much. You are an amazing craftsman. Wishing the best."

Introducing the US02S

Michael's idea was too good to keep as a one-off. The slightly smaller, solo profile is perfect for riders who want the bombproof durability of the US01 but with a tighter footprint for daily riding.
So, we decided to make it official. The US02S Solo Bag is now live on the site, ready for your Sportster, Dyna, Softail, or custom rigid.
Check out the new US02S Solo Bag here.
And remember: if you don't see exactly what you need on the site, call us. We might just build it for you.
