The Origin of BAD&G: Four Friends, One Dream
Every brand has a story, and ours starts in a small town in Bulgaria with four high school friends and one big dream.
Back then, we weren’t thinking about business plans or marketing strategies—we were just four kids obsessed with motorcycles, freedom, and creating something of our own. The dream? To one day open a custom motorcycle shop.
Those four friends were Bill, Ali, Deyan, and me—Greg (short for Grigoriy). We spent countless hours sketching, talking, and planning, convinced that one day we’d make it real.
Chasing the Dream Abroad
After graduation, life spread us out across the world. Bill, Ali, and I moved to the United States for college, while Deyan stayed behind in our hometown of Razgrad, Bulgaria.
In 2007, the three of us in the States finally started putting our dream into action. We set up in a garage and got to work—fixing motorcycles, building custom choppers, and chasing that rush of turning raw steel into something alive. Those days were loud, greasy, and unforgettable.
When Roads Diverge
But life has a way of pulling you in different directions.
- Ali moved to England to start his family.
- Bill followed another career path, though he’s still around and supportive.
- Deyan stayed in Bulgaria and built a successful car and furniture upholstery shop.
And me? I stayed with the dream.
Carrying the Torch
I kept building bikes, but I also found myself drawn deeper into custom leatherwork. Crafting saddlebags, seats, and gear by hand gave me the same fire we had back in high school—the feeling that this wasn’t just work, it was who I was.
And through it all, I kept the name: BAD&G—a tribute to the four of us and the dream that started it all.
Where We Are Today
Today, I’m the sole craftsman and owner of BAD&G Customs. Every bag, every seat, and every stitch is done by hand, fueled by the same passion that brought four friends together all those years ago.
The name may be carried by one now, but it belongs to all four of us—and to anyone who knows what it’s like to chase a dream that never dies.
If you’ve read this far, you’re part of the journey too. Check out our handmade saddlebags and custom leatherwork, follow along on Instagram for behind-the-scenes builds, or sign up for our newsletter to get updates straight from the shop.
