The Ride to Daytona: Essential Gear for Surviving the Haul to Bike Week
The dates are set. The hotels are booked. Now comes the hard part: The ride down.
Whether you are blasting down I-95 from the Northeast or cutting across the country, the ride to Daytona Bike Week is the real test of man and machine. It’s also the ultimate test of your gear. If you have ever arrived on Main Street with a wet sleeping bag or a backache from wearing a heavy backpack for 8 hours, you know exactly what we mean.
1. Pack for "Florida Weather" (Yes, it rains)
Florida in March is unpredictable. You might hit 80°F sunshine on A1A, but you will almost certainly hit a torrential downpour on the way there. That is why we swear by the Hybrid Sissy Bar Bag System.
Our USB01 Sissy Bar Bag uses a removable Waterproof Dry Bag inside a leather chassis. This means your clothes stay bone-dry even if you ride through a thunderstorm in Georgia. Plus, when you get to your hotel or campsite, you just slide the dry bag out and leave the leather mounting rig on the bike.
2. Strip Down for Main Street
Once you park the trailer (or kickstand) and hit the rally, you don't want to be lugging a massive tour pack around. Daytona is about cruising.
This is where our Solo Bags shine. Keep your tools, sunglasses, and a water bottle in a sleek Dyna or Softail Solo Bag. They hug the frame tight, so you don't look like a "bagger" when you are trying to look cool on Main Street, but you still have a place to stash your layers when the sun goes down.
3. We Know Daytona (Because We've Won There)
We don't just sell gear for Bike Week; we build bikes that win there. Our custom 1973 Ironhead, "The Leatherhead," took home trophies at Daytona Bike Week 2016. We know exactly what kind of abuse your gear takes during rally week because we've been there, done that, and built the leather to prove it.

⏳ The Clock is Ticking
Bike Week is right around the corner. If you need a custom set of bags or a USB01 for the ride down, order now. Our lead times will stretch out as we get closer to the rally.
